About This Spot

Stepping into Parlay’s on Harrison Avenue feels like slipping into a familiar corner of New Orleans where time slows just enough to savor good company and the hum of easy conversation. The atmosphere strikes a comfortable balance between lively and laid-back—a neighborhood bar that thrives in the everyday moments between work and play. Whether it’s the pulse of a Saints game on the screen or the quiet clink of ice in a glass during afternoon day-drinks, you quickly get the sense this is a place where people come to reconnect, unwind, and feel at home.

The rhythm here is unhurried but full of purpose. Long afternoons slip into spirited evenings marked by friendly faces and bartenders who know you before you even order—a true hallmark of a spot that’s woven into the fabric of local life. Parlay’s offers more than just drinks; it invites shared moments around the well-loved corner bar or nestled outside where you can bring your dog along. The music hums just beneath the chatter, and somewhere in the background, pool balls clack and laughter rises.

Here, happy hour means more than specials—it’s a gathering of friends old and new, drawn by the sensible charm of $3 domestic beers and the irresistible draw of fresh oysters paired with cold crafts. The food component feels like a happy accident, often complemented by pop-up trucks offering casual bites that emphasize local flavors and relaxed dining. Whether you’re savoring a classic cheeseburger or digging into a casual seafood boil, the focus remains on laid-back enjoyment rather than formal dining.

The week unfolds at Parlay’s with rhythms shaped by locals and their favorite rituals—from slow Sunday brunch vibes brightened by easy-going cocktails to ladies’ nights where the buzz of friendly faces fills every corner. It’s a spot where weeks are marked by familiar voices, personal greetings, and the quiet joy of belonging.

In a city known for its vibrant energy and rich social tapestry, Parlay’s stands out as an inviting refuge—not flashy, never forced, just a genuine slice of New Orleans spirit where friendships grow as freely as the pours behind the bar.

I come here just about every Wednesday for girls night and outside of the great drink specials, Sophie is always so friendly and fun! I never have to wait too long for a drink and she gives great suggestions for fun stuff to do in the city. I’ll definitely be coming back!

My boyfriend and I are weekly patrons of Parlays. It’s kinda like Cheers “where everyone knows your name”. We always have a great time and have made friends that have turned into family! We always go for the LSU and Saints games and the atmosphere is always so lively! Allison, Sophie, Kelsey and Brittney are great bartenders and know what I need before I even ask! They pay attention and are very attentive! This is the best bar in lakeview and at night the bar is always poppin’! Great music and the bartenders handle the crowd with complete control and are always level headed. Everyone here is great and I don’t want to go anywhere else! This is OUR BAR!!!

A nice bar with great service. Patrons here are normally friendly. Great spot for a casual night out with friends.

This is a decent bar with the normal amenities, video poker, bar with lots of alcohol, 2 pool tables, lots of places to sit and socialize, and a Golden Tee machine. And since it's Orleans parish, there's no smoking, but there's plenty of space outside. And they're dog friendly.

So, I was invited here to celebrate a birthday with a couple of coworkers. It was really just some coworkers hanging out to decompress and talk to each other, which we don't always get to do at work. The bar don't serve food, but there was a pop-up seafood boil truck that pulled up outside that you could buy from and eat in the bar. It was a to-go plate that consisted of 1 lobster, corn on the cob, potato, and a pound of boiled shrimp for $22. We all shared the plates so I only got to try the shrimp. The texture was good and the flavor was ok. I have had better boiled shrimp, but it was decent enough to eat. As far as the bar service, it was pretty busy. When I initially arrived and for the first hour, there was only one bartender, a hard working young lady that went from one end of the bar to the next. There was at least three or four other people who kept coming in and out of the back, but never assisting her with service. It took about 10 minutes before she noticed me to serve me a drink. Eventually, a second lady showed up and served the other end of the bar. I felt bad for the first young lady that I left her a bigger tip than I was going to originally give. For a bar that advertises being the longest bar in the parish you would think they would have enough bartenders to serve during the busiest time on a Friday! When it comes to the drinks, I originally ordered an amaretto and pineapple and she was going for the bottom shelf bottom, I told her I wanted Disarono. She informed me that it was $5 more, but that's what I wanted and she gave it to me. Lesson here, know what you want and pay attention to what you are being given or you may get something you don't like. I was willing to pay since I don't go out drinking like that. One time won't hurt, right? The last thing I want to mention was the atmosphere. The music was very loud in the place and my throat was hurting because I had to talk loud to even the person next to me. I think, they should have had it a little lower. I would feel different if people were dancing. I will probably not visit this place again. There were too many strikes against it that I could think of several other bars that do it better. I didn't even bother to take pictures while there.

I’ve been coming to Parlays frequently for a few years, one of the highlights is seeing/talking to Sophie! Not only does Sophie make the best margaritas, but she is the best person to interact with and is always in the best mood! The drinks are great, but Sophie makes the evening memorable!
